Manchester United Interested In Steven Defour?

The trasnfer rumors never seem to cease when it comes to Manchester United. In a summer that has seen United linked almost everyone Defour’s name has now been added to the list. The 22 year old Belgium international won the Belgian Golden Shoe in 2008 in the Jupiter League.

The Golden Shoe is given to the best player in the league, if you are wondering why you never heard anything about him for the entire of last season it was due to the fact that he suffered a broken leg which made him miss the entire 2009 – 2010 season.Steven Defour has also been shown interest form other EPL clubs that include Liverpool, Arsenal & big spending Manchester City.

Defour’s agent had this to say to Sport.co.uk

“Sir Alex is always interested in Steven ever since he sent him the letter when he was struggling with injury. He is interested but we have to wait for an offer to be validated. At the moment he is not 100% because of his long term injury, and now he has to work on recovering from this.

“Yes, they are interested, but many clubs are interested, from Spain, Italy, and Germany. To say that tomorrow he will go to England is not right. There is always interest and everyone wants to play in the Premier League because it is a very big competition. But, I think we will have to wait until he is a 100%, not 85%.”

I wonder who Manchester United are going to be linked to next, could it be Santa Claus? That will be great if we can get him so he can give all the players and staff winners medals for the upcoming 2010 – 2011 English Premier League, FA Cup & UEFA Champions League seasons.

  1. I will much prefer having Ozil… i’ve seem him play and perform on the world stage as for Defour i haven’t seen him play and i don’t know if he’s recoverd fully from his long term injury. The last thing i will like to see is United signing another in jury prone player who gets paid for being in the treatment room rather than on for being productive on the field.
