Arsene Around

Despite having a wide variety of young and  talented players at his disposal, Cesc Fabregas, Jack Wilshire, Samir Nasri, Theo Walcott, Carlos Vela etc. Arsene Wenger has failed to guide his club to lift any major trophies.

The once cool and calm Wenger looks a shadow of the man he was back then, these days he’s more know for tossing water bottles to the ground in frustration and having the look of a broken man in his facial expressions. The pressure to win silverware placed on him by the fans seemed to have caught up to him and he can’t seem to figure a way to solve the problem.

How about doing what the owners and fans are dieing for Mr. Wenger?, Win Them A Trophy!

The Gunners were once in the running for a historic quadruple and Arsene Wenger himself had belief his team can succeed in doing so, this boost of confidence came after their big 1st leg win over FC Barcelona in the Champions League. Since that win over the Catalan Giants Arsenal went on to lose in the Carling Cup Final against Brimingham City, lost to a make shift Manchester United team in the FA Cup and lost their 2nd leg match to FC Barcelona and were eliminated, the final blow to landing any silverware came in their loss to Bolton Wanderers.

It’s been six years since The Gunners lifted any silverware, the last being the 2005 FA Cup where they defeated Manchester United at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, a match in which they won on penalties with the deciding one scored by then captain Patrick Vieira.

Since then Vieira has moved on and has played for Inter Milan and is currently playing for big spenders Manchester City. The Gunners had won the English Premier League title the season before in unbelievable fashion by going undefeated and was thus branded as the Invincibles, over the years they have been anything but that.
