A Match Made In Heaven Or A Heavenly Match At Wembley?

A match made in heaven or a heavenly match at Wembley? Saturday’s upcoming match promises to a football lover’s ultimate fantasy. Two of the most popular football clubs in the world – Manchester United and Barcelona – will go head to head for one of the most coveted titles at one of most prestigious venues in the world, Wembley Stadium in London.
Kick off is slated for 2:45 p.m EST and the ninety-plus minutes there after will determine which one of these great teams comes out on top. Barca has been cited as “having no true onfield weakness” and is by far an international favourite. Lionel Messi lead the way for the 3-peat, 2011-2012 Spanish league title champions and he has scored a whopping 49 goals in 46 games this season. However Barcelona has been labeled “tired” by Arsene Wenger while Sir Alex Ferguson adamantly asserts that Barcelona has no advantage over the Reds.

Manchester United, the current English Premier League Champions may be able to keep the momentum going with this important win against Barcelona and maintain their No.1 Champions’ League rank. Currently what may give the Reds the winning edge is their infallible offense. Berbatov and Javier Hernandez together will be a force to reckon with for the Barcelona defense.

Both of these teams are probably the polar opposite of each other with regards to strategy and style. Barcelona always seems to come on top with possession but Man Utd will probably optimize what little possession they will manage to achieve. It must be noted that Barcelona has a quite predictable style but with Manchester United, on the contrary, one can never know what to expect.

Will Barcelona rise to the occasion as crowd faves or will Manchester United make a break through and have a sweet redemption from their 09 Champion League’s final loss against the Barca. Whatever the outcome, Saturday promises to be a great match.

  1. Well done Kysa,
your first article is a great read for what i hope is a great match for United. Barcelona is definitely the crowd favorite but being crowd favorite doesn’t guarantee victory, i hope i right on this one. Viva United!
