One of Tottenham’s downfall last season was in goal with the comical errors by Heurelho Gomes. If it hadn’t been for some of the errors made by the goalkeeper Tottenham could be in the Champions League for a second straight season.
Spurs have somewhat solved their problem in goal by acquiring Brad Friedel from Aston Villa on a free transfer, i’m not sure that this is a good move but i’m not sure it is a bad one aswell. The 40 year old veteran goalkeeper has shown his worth over the years for every club he’s been between the post for, my main concern is his age but age is nothing but a number as many Manchester United fans will say if you ask them about now retired Edwin van der Sar who recently helped his team to a record 19th league title.
The American goalkeeper signed a 2 year contract which will see him compete for the number one spot with the likes of Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini. The signing of Friedel has casted doubts about the future of Gomes who has had a mixed time in goal since joining Tottenham from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven a few seasons ago.
