Every Manchester United fan who was alive in 1999 when the team won the UEFA Champions Final in dramatic fashion should know this famous line. The day these words were uttered i was in tears, i was so excited and tears of joy was the only way i could’ve express myself.
Today Ole Gunnar Solskjaer aka the Baby Face Assassin guided Molde FK which is the club he played for and got discovered with to their first ever Tippeligaen (League Title) in his first season coaching the club. After a very successful career at Old Trafford with Manchester United where he joined in 1996 and played 366 games, scored 126 goals, won six league titles, 2 FA Cups and 1 UEFA Champions League where as i mentioned he scored the winning goal.
In 2007 he retired from football and got the job as Manchester United Reserves team coach where he guided them to become champions of England, Northern League champions and the Manchester and Lancashire Senior Cups.
After this successful coaching run he was offered the job to coach the Norwegian national team but he declined and instead stayed in Manchester, he was later offered the job at Molde FK which he accepted.
Before his arrival Molde FK had finished 11th, five places from the bottom and 28 points behind then champions Rosenborg. Today Molde FK drew 2-2 with Strømsgodset while second place Rosenborg lost to Brann 6-3, the result put Molde FK eight points clear with two games left clinching the title in the process.
Congratulations Ole on a job well done.
