Unbeaten No More

United put on an embarrassing display at Molineux and lose 2-1 to end their 29 game unbeaten streak. A very complacent Manchester United team showed it’s face for the entire match and allowed bottom of the table Wolves to get the most surprising result of this unpredictable season so far.

Nani opened the scoring in the 3rd minute beating Wayne Hennessey on his near post but The Reds’ could only hang onto to their slender lead for seven minutes. Wolves were levelled in the 10th minute after George Elokobi headed home the equalizing goal.

The Reds’ were slow, gutless and lacked imagination when going forward and were basically cancelling out their own attacks. Things got worse for United when Kevin Doyle headed Wolves infront from a freekick 5 minutes before halftime which left fans wondering where the defenders were.

The second half of the match was almost as bad as the first 45 minutes but United looked a bit more threatening going forward but their decision making in the final third kept failing them. United kept producing attack after attacking but Wolves were destined to keep a hold of their lead and snuffed out the United chances. Fergie made a few changes to spark some life into the match but this day it wasn’t going to happen and United’s unbeaten streak was finally ended after another poor away performance.
