It was a match with huge build up and high expectations, FC Barcelona were heavy favorites to lift the trophy and they did just that. Goals from Pedro, Lionel Messi & David Villa were enough to see the Catalan Giants lift and impressive 4th Champions League title. Today’s game was a rematch of the 2009 final at Rome in which Barcelona defeated United 2-0 with goals from Samuel Eto’o & Lionel Messi.

This encounter was played at the famous Wembley Stadium infront of 87,695 screaming fans, the last time these two teams played they broke the record for TV viewers for a sporting even out doing the Super Bowl, the viewing audience for to was a record of 300 Million viewers.

David Villa Sends Two Signed Jerseys To Chilean Miners

FC Barcelona and Spain striker David Villa has sent two signed jersey’s to the 33 Chilean miners trapped who have been trapped underground for over a month now. One of the shirts have the message of “Be Strong” while the other had a personal message to one of the miners named Franklin Lobos who was once a professional football himself.

Villa’s family has been mining for generations in the Spanish region of Asturias had been quoted by Spanish sports daily El Mundo Deportivo saying:

“I am part of the mining family and I share the concern of the relatives but everything will turn out well,”.

“I wanted to let them know that I am with them, that all of us who know what it’s like in a mine are with them and that the whole world is watching them and supports them,”.
